What is CGT Gladia?
CGT Gladia is a union section in formation representing and defending the workers of Gladia.
As the global economy worsens, authoritarianism looms large around the world, AI becomes an excuse to demand unrealistic productivity from tech workers, and the genocide in Gaza continues, us tech workers can no longer stand on the sidelines.
Facing similar circumstances, our comrades at CGT Ubisoft and many others have taken this important step and it’s time we do the same.
Why the CGT?
The CGT (General Confederation of Labor, fr: Confédération générale du travail) is France’s strongest labor union, with over 600,000 members. Founded in 1895, it has a proven track record of making meaningful change for its members and for the workers of France and the world. In recent years, the CGT has become the preferred union for office workers as employers use new technologies to discipline their workforce and justify hiring freezes. It is also notable for its strong stance on the issues which matter most to these workers, such as the CGT’s strong condemnation of the genocide against the Palestinian people, its demands for racial and gender equality, and its opposition to the privatization of healthcare.

Do I have to pay union dues?
Union dues are an essential part of joining the CGT, since it allows us to pay for our operational expenses, support our comrades at the local and confédéral levels and ensure our autonomy and independence. It also serves to show that we put our money where our mouth is.
Dues are calculated as 1% of your net salary, for which you can benefit from a 66% tax credit.
Will my employer know I belong to the union?
Your membership is kept strictly confidential. Gladia has no access to our membership rolls. Furthermore, Gladia may not ask you if you belong to the union. Any discrimination by Gladia on the basis of your real or perceived union sympathies or membership is illegal and punishable under law.
